Well I wasn't expecting that, although I found it rather wholesome as I have many trans friends.
Although it felt very ham-fisted in the way it was done. To be honest going though and re-reading the authors other story has kinda put this one to shame. The problem Is that I believe if this arc was finished and we got onto the end game the story might redeem itself some what.

Also I believe the reason this arc has been stretched out, is that the author is trying to figure out what comes next and isn't having much luck, as they probably want to keep this story going or are being asked to do so by their management. But they probably had originally planned to end the story after the conclusion of this arc.

Have to agree. Also dropping it, just... lots of stuff happening with no real impact on the general story. Like this chapter, who even is this maid? I can't even remember her, and the author is trying to make us somehow care about her now?

At this point we have spent more time on the boat and since then we did with the initial summoner lady and his friend. What even is the point of stretching this arc out so much?
