I mean, from some of their older posts I feel like they feel like they own SKM, i.e. the joke posts about it getting anime and stuff on their website and how prominent it is compared to their other stuff (in fact, I think this seems to be the only project they're still somewhat update?). So it could be a pride thing, or alternatively they do have a discord and maybe there's more insight in there.

If they drop this, I don't blame them considering the way useless leeches around here defend bad scans by saying people are getting them for free, while in the same breath bitch that the original group also [checks notes] putting out work for free isn't fast enough. Why go to the effort to give assholes quality for free when they'll just eat up speedscan garbage?
