Nobunaga having the idea of using psychological warfare from Shizuko, is ok. But the talking like the whole concept was new? Who doesn't known that tired people perform worse?

Apparently management of most office and production workplaces. Or maybe they do know, and count on it? When you have an unlimited supply of new applicants chomping at the bit to get in, you can abuse your workers quite literally to death, and not lose for doing so. I mean, giving an employee a 25 cent raise could cost the company a couple hundred dollars per year! If they die, a replacement can be hired for minimum wage!
At least, this was my experience working for AT&T. Five of my coworkers who had become my friends all died from distress-induced heart failure because of that job, and I don't know how many others I didn't know, died, but the ambulance was a common sight outside of the lobby.

I don’t think this is one of those MC is smart, everyone else is dumb moments.

Suzuko is just asking Nobunaga, in a roundabout way, not to overwork her people too much with his extremely high demands.

As it was a recent request from someone who barely asks for anything unless it was to come up with another crazy idea, it stuck in his mind so he decided to overwork the enemy soldiers instead.

@pdonk, although the concept is similar, the tactic is to accumulate stress for the enemies. They still get to eat and rest but unpredictablr harassments would cause them to "burn out" which was probably still not a known term at that time.
