because we are 218 chapters into this series and we have had literally zero progress. It’s almost impressive how little progress has happened, in five years the author has managed to have no character growth for the main two people.

They’ve introduced side character after side character to have romance subplots, but still refused to have any progress with the main two.

So as we reach the second half of the decade this has been running, some people are getting a little frustrated that we have MORE chapters dedicated to side characters. I even got my hopes up slightly when I saw it wasn’t the Shota or generic black haired couple… then once again got literally nothing to show for it

I'd argue that usagi drop's final few chapters which tarnished it's image of being a wholesome family manga had a massive impact on any manga depicting a dude and a loli in a somewhat father/child thematic
