So we all agree the Dean is the one who lead Class D into being evil mages, right?

The dean who specifically makes sure one group of people are constantly treated poorly, threatens the teachers about evil mages, and probably also picked the flower that killed Luca and have it appear again to torment Shao? Coincidentally he only joins as the future now says they aren't becoming evil mages like...

Let's see...after reading some of the comments...some people agree that it's a red herring

As for me after the system was introduced the one that gave me the warning vibe honestly is the vice principal

While the principal made the system combined with the dean who supports the system it didn't make any sense for the hidden party to cast such a high level magic to force students perform evil deeds

But what if the magic was meant to give the failures a boost to do what they want? And it was developed by someone else that values students?

From what I can see vice principal fits the hidden party who used the "starry eyed" magic, then IF something or anything bad happens they can chalk the bad things as "this is what happened because of your sacrificial education!"

And for the perfect scapegoat, we got two piece of shit right here both the dean and principal

I can't help but still think.
1. Why is it the current Class D? Previous Class D also have some expelled but it seems like the prophecy assumed that all of them expelled even though some of them are skilled. The dean sure is involved in this.
2. I guess it is weird why they could became evil magicians even though Solo exist. Then I guess the knowledge of that prophecy itself is the anomaly that is accounted for the current changes and maybe the perpetrator doesn't know the existence of them?

I think some people already explained this and I was just maybe too late lol but this is so interesting

The author tweet that the next volume is on October. Now that Solo sensei, Ibuki, Miiko, and Shao, the 4 main characters are on the first 4 covers, I wonder who is going to be on the fifth.

I bet it's Nagisa. Since 5th volume revolves around Nagisa.

I dont think so. This author aint one for spoiling on a cover, just look at the previous covers or one from his other works. It might just be the order of characters having their arc with Solo sensei, which I guess it will be Totori (or both her and Rex).

Thanks for the chapters!

And man the plot keeps on thicking and I'm liking it. Also like the extra content at the end of the chapter, it was a nice and fub detail

As suspicious as the Dean's made out to be, I think the culprit is the teacher who left before Solo. While he likely just left because of arrangements being made to get him out to get Solo in, he'd be in a spot to cast magic on all these students, and may have even chosen the spot so that he'd have subjects nobody would care about (as nobody cares about class D).

He's also perfectly placed as a character in the typical "around enough to be mentioned + not feel like out of nowhere when the reveal hits, but not around enough to garner any suspicion" spot you sometimes see villains put into.

I don't think it's the vice principal, if I had to guess about VP's real identity (if they even have a secret one), I'm kind of thinking they're actually the Clairvoyant. His attitude towards wanting to see the system change kind of matches how Rose feels about egg-cracking, but a bit on the kinder side.

edit: Also, if I did have to accuse the Dean of something, rather than the bad guy, I think he might be an investigator sent to investigate the issue on the "clean" side of things. His habit of adjusting the jewel on his cloak feels a lot to me like adjusting a camera, lmao.

Idk what that fatass class B professor was trying to achieve... In almost every deliberation, they give consideration. It's only natural that students who passed will pass. Why even have the school if the decision of who gets to pass is left to people like him?

Unfortunately, Nagisa is still also a suspect.
Some people raised some good points about how the vice-principal can be behind it too.
I also have a crazy theory that the chunni guy managed to do some nasty invocation once out of (un)luck and the being that came out was really evil and cursed them all.
also dean sir you are sus as hell that it made me think that you're actually not the "bad" guy
I'm thinking he's on the same team as MC and sidekick, but more like the guy who works from the shadows. Someone mentioned something givin an example about another manga, but I dindn't get the reference :pout:.
