I can imagine the officer being lenient on him after what happened but he might be socially ruined if it's on a track record anyone can look up or maybe they'll pity him as a bully victim (shame the mom couldn't stab someone who deserved it before getting arrested) , even if she wasn't pregnant I'd think poisoning someone you know has an allergy is a pretty big deal

Might be stuck with a lot of compensation fees even if he doesn't do community service or some teen rehab center for delinquents/troubled youths tho since he's also an adult after being discharged it might be hard for him to get money for bills even if he's allowed to stay in the house tho hopefully the dad doesn't turn into a full on deadbeat after finding out about the moms arrest
...Wow. I mean, I didn't think he would simply get a slap on the wrist, but... damn.

I imagine Yu's charges won't be that severe considering the circumstances. I think a lot of it was more sensei wanting him to fess up and own up to it more than anything. She knew he was being bullied and most certainly got tricked into doing what he did, so she clearly doesn't view him as equally bad as the others, but still wanted him to face the facts of what he did.

I’ve watched enough Law & Order SVU to know victim hood is a thing.

Yu-kun having an overbearing mom and being bullied at school he’d be overlooked as another victim.

But that’s only if he can play the part.

Anyways I digress. Now that the cats out of the bag. I really want to know how the justice system is gonna pan out since Yu-kun admitted to the crime.
He did admit to the crime but his circumstances would probably mitigate anything serious. He didn't even give it much thought when he gave those muffins over. Was he in the correct mindset giving her the muffins. Probably not. He didn't make the muffins. He only gave them to her.

Sad thing is that the teacher only found out he was being bullied then. She didn't have time to tell his mom. If they had more time they could have punished the bullies before she lost her child. After losing her child this was the final conclusion.
