Oh, not the "cut the brake (lines)" meme again...

Most small city cars in Japan are automatic. Automatic cars (and even many manual cars) require you to press the brake when turning them on and shifting into gear. A cut brake line will instantly make the brake pedal sink into the floor like a brick when pressing it, alerting the driver of an issue with the brakes. And then there's people like me that habitually apply the brake anyway when starting the engine.

This one I feel the ring leader kid will lose his father because the father loves his politics more than his child. I drove a car where where a break line failed. It was a pinhole leak but it was immediately noticeable. And I had enough breaks to stop and park. The towing guy asked if the breaks work at all and when I said yes he just drove onto the tow truck ramp with gusto and left me all .

Hate to be that guy but there's no way a driver won't spot their brakes getting cut. You start the car while holding your brakes and if the car does move right after starting you know something is wrong, which in that case you can turn the car off very quick to avoid damages. If you somehow don't in a panic, you can idle crash straight ahead within that park region, at most damaging the front bumper.

Even worse, its a push button start. Those cars won't start without the brake fully pressed.
