Lotta overreaction. I don't love this development, but this guy is unimportant. We have too many "he was and still is kind of a jerk" signals for him to be a serious rival. Clearly his main function is to prompt a bit of male lead jealousy which will just bring them together harder. And secondarily, we got a little "Could he expose her" scare going, but that won't actually happen because obviously this is not the kind of manga where the lead girl is forced to quit in a big scandal with tainted future employment prospects. Nor is it the kind of manga where she ends up in a twisted blackmail-based relationship with a mustachio-twirling villain, so that won't happen either. And this manga generally solves things quickly, so it'll all be resolved in a few chapters.

It is possible he'll eventually end up getting together with the blond teacher.
