i understand that he would flip like that, when he was just trying to help her and the boyfriend.
Being immature, she did not like it and tried to hurt him as strong as she could, calling him being used by her mother "gross" and it worked
Basically, Yamato is kind of the same as the original MC, abused by the teacher
MC is also called "gross" by the girl he wants to have a relationship with, and like Yamato, he snapped at that hurtful comment.
Pretty good writing there by the author
