Usually I don´t like yuri (don´t jump on me) that´s why I don´t like these yuri(ish) side romances to simply avoid the harem concept. I thought that the hyena character would end up accepting being a female because they are the pack leaders and the badasses on the animal kingdom. So this feels wierd in so many levels that this arc in particular felt like a sidestory unrelated fanmade than the canon story.

I don't know, I kinda liked that arc. I think the setting was good, if anything, because for most of the arc we didn't know what the hell was actually down there, so it had a mystery to it (that I enjoyed), and I give it a point because at least it tried to do something different.
