Not going to lie, I'm getting rather annoyed by Seven Seas. They are trying to grow too large for what they can actually manage.

Their translations are generally iffy and they go on big licensing sprees almost every other week only to release the first volume in a year and then, if you're lucky and it is a series that sells well, a new volume maybe every three months. If not then they'll basically side-line the volume releases and release a new volume every six months instead.

Is seven seas any good? Totally out of the loop on official licensing.

I'm not so knowledgeable either but I Know that they take about 9 months to a year for releasing manga volumes after the japanese release.

Last year they dmca'd a TL novel group that was translating classroom of the elite, but seven seas itself is 9 volumes late in translating, in which the most recent one by them was released in February 2023.

Thank you for the translations! Hopefully this doesn't mean the series becomes "officially" stagnant due to it's publishing.

pointless? Sure. But calling it dumb and meaningless is just disrespectful to the TL crew that did all the work until now and their ethics and stance on this matter. Feels more like an acknowledge over comment on kind of thing.

You would do better bashing official releases. Seven seas and all the others do need to get a grip. No joke, I cringe and want to gouge my eyes out when I see a 3 years release plan for a series to still be behind 3-10 volumes. I honestly don't get how they are still around.

As someone that works in tourism, this cliche gets on my nerves. If it's truly the Hotel at fault for having made such mistake, they are FORCED to give them two rooms on ANOTHER HOTEL (if they're overbooked) of the same or higher quality while the customers do not have to pay anything extra.

its been great to finally see a serialized zurikishi work but now that you guys are dropping it, i doubt anyone else will touch it which is sad but ive seen it happen way too often. the times i have seen it though have been from scanlator groups that release a couple of chapters and then paywall everything else behind prices that not even large companies would charge. i guess that means that once this is over we probably wont get a chapter for the next couple of years but such is life

At the end of the day, I do get the frustration and it's expected. Even we have mixed feelings all over.

Well, it's a possibility, I think this series has a high likely hood of getting picked up. Though the one thing working against it is the fact that it's a 20 page weekly manga. So it's demanding. And I did say we plan to finish the current arc, which could be a chapter or two. Let's see how things play out 🙏

No, they are garbage. Their Hyakkano translation is mediocre at best, horrible usually, unreadable at worst

Man im both happy and sad this got an offical license. Yea obv now there is a offical version which is great no doubt, but im sitll a broke college kid, so now having to wait for the volume to come out for scans will suck though, it is what it is. This tl work is so good, i'm gonna miss it, it's good that it's getting recognition that may lead to anime adaptation but, official tl isnt that great with how slow they are at releasing stuff
