@ venerablemonster I'm up for that ending! I really like Ryugasaki-san, but I don't like him at all. I can't imagine any scenario the mangaka can come up with that would erase the negative impression he's made and make me look upon him favorably.

This story is a pretty quick read...and skirts the lines around a whole bunch of fetishes.
Though, I’ve gotta say, doesn’t that dude live with anybody...are we just left to assume that he has a whole room for the naked taxidermied molt of his girlfriend? Or is this hinting at something even darker happening around him?

Err first, there is still a technical difference between having a kink and acting on it (just making sure there is still a distinction in place). As quite literally anything can be a kink.
Second, while it's true that there are kinks that are "outright wrong or disgusting" as you put it, I seriously doubt that an obsession with discarded skin flakes or stealing an unfertilized egg fall into that category.
Freaky, sure. But deserving of death? My dude, really?
I mean, I guess some people are going for the reductio ad absurdum and conflating this with child murder or something. But remember, it's an UNFERTILIZED. FUCKING. EGG.
It's her equivalent of menstruation. In other words, what he just did is the equivalent of him stealing a small jar of menstrual blood from her because he wants to turn it into paint or something.
Or let's swap their positions for a moment, why don't we? Basically, this is the equivalent of her stealing a small jar of his jizz from him because she wants to sniff it like crack or I don't even give a shit.
Both of these examples are pretty darn freaky, for sure. But if you honestly believe either of them would, of all things, be deserving of death for that, these two are certainly not the only people in dire need of professional help.
And let's not forget, apparently the reason she's in love with him, enough to be thirsty for his babies mind you, is precisely because he has that kink.
So no matter how you look at it, she's obviously not that 'normal' either.
I mean dude, she's the equivalent of a girl that fell in love with a guy because he's got an obsession with gathering toe nails, not some helpless poor girl that was deceived into a relationship with him.
She knows exactly what she's getting in that package.

Honestly, the protagonist is a full on “silence of the lambs” psycho. He doesn’t care about her or her feelings at all. I wish they had just made the series about her (I’m most curious as to her origin story and how she deals with it since she seems to be the only monster girl in this world) I think I’d enjoy it a lot more. But he’s a total ###.
