We literally just resolved a silly misunderstanding a few panels ago only to immediately jump into a new misunderstanding. Really author?
I don't know what's up with the author leaning so hard on the drama caused by miscommunication in this since the main story's drama is much more believably written.
I would like to give the benefit of the doubt that Ayu sent that text under duress from her parents. That her dad said he wouldn't call the police if she immediately broke up and cut contact.
But yeah the parents' views are so gross. Ayu will obviously have to cut ties with them permanently because there's no way to compromise when they think like that.
"Don't worry, Dear, we'll find a husband to give you to who'll knock you up in no time despite you being incapable of attraction to him so you can be happy in the way you don't realise yet"... yikes. Running away had been the right idea.
I think what Yukari is trying to say is that she doesn't normally find women attractive.
There's all sorts of possible explanations for that, which is part of what Tomoka tries to explain. Maybe she's demisexual, or maybe Ayu is just an exception. Sexuality doesn't have to be some super strict and unchanging concept for some people, and it's tripping Yukari up to focus on that.
