Well, this is turning out to be more interesting than it already was. I, for one, enjoy this kind of world-building lore stuff, hit me with more!
Historically, japanese imperial court adopted the chinese script to write down their language, which was most unfortunate for the generations to come because the chinese script is actually incredibly unsuitable for japanese language, lol.Huh really?
Here I thought the kanji that Japanese used is more or less look similar with the one that Taiwanese used.
Errrm...My god, it's Japanese.
I forget; Sakura's from fantasy Japan right? Like how Albion's Britain, Dhala's India, Noel's from Ireland, Sinchar's the Middle East, and Shiera's from... uh... somewhere. Come to think of it I forget what Garandoa corresponds to. Same with Hasasland.
Anyways good boobs. Also good worldbuilding. RIP the priestess getting thrown in jail for doing her job properly.
I thought Dhala was Third Republic France, it's called a republic early on. The rivalry and places they've fought over parallel French imperial conflicts with England.Historically, japanese imperial court adopted the chinese script to write down their language, which was most unfortunate for the generations to come because the chinese script is actually incredibly unsuitable for japanese language, lol.

Sakura's kingdom was not detailed enough to determine on what real country it's based.
Albion is pretty much England. Noel's country could be Ireland or Scotland.
Dhala is most likely Bismarck's Germany.
Sinchar was most likely East Roman (Byzantine) Empire OR the Ottoman Empire and Arab Revolt.
Shiera's could be any of these unfortunate Polynesian people.
Garandoa dunno.
Yashimano&Hasas are most likely based on the japanese colonization of Ezochi (Hokkaido) and subjugation of the indigenous Ainu.
Edit: I think we get the answer why Ginren 'lured' Sakura here; she is the descendant of black dragon people which... kinda places our little heroine in precarious position.
The place with the devil people Yashimano was Japan. MC told the emperor how it is very similar to his country and during the battle against hasas they talked about how their descendants were honorable warriors and stuff like samuraisMy god, it's Japanese.

Comparing the pacing in this arc to the first few arcs is like night and dayI must say this series kinda boring recently, since chapter (i'm forget which one, that all i know Sakura runaway and come to meet Huang Lia part) every update just only talk, talk, and talk. Which no action n nothing more that make me really get excited (unless booba stuff) this manga just like lost it's identity and turn into a Ancient Chinese tale (Chinese myth tale). I'm not say this series is bad but some of these chapter got easy skip for sure.
as someone who read between the tits i found the info dumb very informative.talk talk talk, this chapter would have been a snooze fest if it wasn't for the "plot important" and "necessary" shots
Huh, that just makes it even more interesting! I love it when manga uses RL lore like this ^^The mangaka is even basing the current lore on the story of the RL lost Chinese Imperial Seal - made in the Qin Dynasty and serving as a physical mandate of rule for many dynasties - until it was lost after the fall of the Tang dynasty.

Hmmm, good point.I thought Dhala was Third Republic France, it's called a republic early on. The rivalry and places they've fought over parallel French imperial conflicts with England.
There is a mention of a germanic sounding recently formed empire, that is almost definitely bismarck's germany. The location of it made me think that dhala is russian, but i guess the author wanted to made it more obscure because they are the main antagonist. The nereid is likely to be some islander greeks on a more tropical environment considering the sunken empire theme and proximity to sinchar, which by the geographic description is very similar to constantinople other than their obviously desert location and arab-like culture.Historically, japanese imperial court adopted the chinese script to write down their language, which was most unfortunate for the generations to come because the chinese script is actually incredibly unsuitable for japanese language, lol.

Taiwanese is another official version of the chinese scripts. Because of the nature of it, chinese script act more like a language than something like alphabetic writing system, with different language using a different "dialect" of the script. And just like language, new characters pops up all the time or slowly morphed into a new form as needed by the language using it. The countries that use chinese script then decided that they need to standardize the "language" so that people can communicate better. As we can see, the two china disagreed on the approach and do their standardization independently to each other, with mainland china simplifying the old "word" whenever they could and the taiwanese preserving more of it.Huh really?

Well, I mainly base my assumption on the fact that Dhala, despite calling itself a republic, has ruling dynasty backed by strong military class. Plus, you can see all these military endeavours in many places, which would fit the Bismarck's policy of 'blood&iron'. That being said, the Czarist Russia also makes sense since they apparently conquered some territories close to Sinchar. There is a mention of a germanic sounding recently formed empire, that is almost definitely bismarck's germany. Sakura came from suriyah, which by the name alone point out to syria, but the early chapter looks like it is being set in india and (if i remember it right) she mentioned cultural proximity to huang lia, so i think tibet is the more likely contender. Also made sense how someone from her country ends up in chinese court if she is a tibetan.
Edit: also, sakura can't be japanese because we've been there and she doesn't fit in with the local culture, plus japan is an independent country which contradict the story setting that her country has been conquered.
Edit 2: i also couldn't fit the dwarves neatly to any country. The only isolationist mountain german that i can think of is the swiss, but i don't think that they ever had any threat from the east, nor are they early adopters of trains. Also got that arabian feeling again with how they are hiding the women.
