The writing quality has fallen off a cliff ever since the appearance of the headmaster and Ark/Alma’s backstory. I’m going to keep reading in hopes that it recovers and this is just a fumble during this specific arc but holy shit this is some of the worst writing I’ve seen in any story in a good while. It’s a shame because otherwise this series has been pretty enjoyable.
