I mean... from a story standpoint healing her scars is probably an incredibly romantic thing since she even said she feels shame from the tattoos still. But from a reader's standing, it is a real shame. Her character design with the tattoos really made her stand out and looked very unique for a manga character. Now, outside of her hairstyle, she's become generic.

It's also erasing all her hardships and memories that helped her grow into the person Keigo loves. I feel like it would have worked better if she had some noticeable scarring beforehand. The bathtub scene could have been really dramatic if Keigo noticed her many many scars for the first time, and it would have been a much more natural reveal and development for Yurina's character. I would have preferred the tattoos weren't erased completely, but changed into something beautiful. Just make it a tiny magic crest or something on just her hand or cheek or shoulder.

Joni drinking that restoration position should also remove his tattoos, unless they were drawn on, which might be comical.

Okay, was set up for dark story but, damn, not that dark... abusive drunkard father... mother hang herself when she was just 7... running away and living in the slums... brother dying from illness in front of her eyes... fuuuuuck...

Josephine Mama was kindhearted, glad she found her before someone kidnapped Yurina and sold to a nobleman to fuck.

I see plenty speculation about the tattoo, so I'll pitch in my first hand experience that might settle things up.

Yurina was covered her scars made by abuse, tattoos were made not only to "forget by covering them" but also not scare people away by all those scars, that world doesn't stigmatising people wearing them as bad people, Marugo has tattoos but also Joni, anyone can have them.

But those tattoos still were part of Yurina painful past, they only hid them but also reminded her whenever she looked at them.
You can paint a pretty drawing on the stained with oil wall, but the stain remains.

Then comes along Keigo, he doesn't care about scars or tattoos as he fell in love a person Yurina is not how she looks, but knowing what they represent he reasonably removed them to put Yurina past to rest.

Cheering for tattoos to remain, is like cheering for Yurina past to come back.
