They're so dysfunctional it wraps around to being cute. They are both clearly in love with each other and have been for a while. In any other manga, this chapter would be a sweet umbrella date between a couple and a memory of when they fell in love as kids. That's basically what this was anyway but with a lot of "fun" on top. They'll get there eventually but the journey is entertaining.

The previous chapters before implies that Wakaba had a senpai she liked whom Komaki started dating "just out of spite against Wakaba" and then later dumped him within a short period of time and made fun of it and she obviously did all of this because she was in love with her but Wakaba liked someone else, she couldn't become the #1 person she likes so she became the #1 person she hates. Something something dumb reasoning.
