7000 titles, and NamiComi's taking over? We're boned as can be lads, get to packing.

My bookmarks are only just over 5800. Far too large compared to my listed follows of just a mere 500, adding everything to it now would be a gargantuan task, opening every single one just to add to my "reading" list, I'd be better off scraping the titles off my bookmarks.

Now if the series pages with their links to official sites and the forums gets spared by the take-over, then at least there will still be some value left.

It's gonna be the Batoto Mass Exodus Event all over again.

edit: Adding every bookmark I have to my list now...
edit2: I sure hope I don't trip the temporary high traffic ban while I do this endeavor.
edit3: There HAS GOT to be another way of mass adding titles to library other than checking every single page.
edit4: Suggesting a way to be able to mass select titles to add to my Library without the risk of getting 403:tempo banned
edit5: Never mind, someone already suggested a mass selection that could affect library (MDList/CustomList v2 + Library update.)
edit6: Started updating with bookmarks from 2021 to end of 2023, Library now at 1371 titles. 2024 is gonna add about double that, 2025 about just around a thousand.
edit7: Library now at 5014 titles, I still have to sort through 900 bookmarked chapters for title dupes and status updates. This is gonna take me a while before I even think of exporting my library.
edit8: Follows finally caught up with bookmarks, and the tally is now at 5,528 titles.

And still no official announcement. That fucking updated FAQ is a joke!

Clear Answers instead of vague phrasing would be nice .

Who Are the "rightsholders" I wanna Know whos stuff to avoid in the future !
what organisation sent this DMCA on the behalf of the "rightsholders" ?
what is going to happen to the chapters that have not been deleted yet ?
we all know no one had the permission. will you delete them on your own accord or will you wait for the next Waves of DMCA to come ? to be honest you just could go ahead and delete everything that is not "selfpublished" !

handing over the site to namicomi is a bad idea. Mangadex's downfall will now accelerate exponentially.

7000, holy fucking shit
remember when we thought 300 was huge?
the biggest documentation we have right now for the affected titles is at 1660 right now
that makes ~5360 other titles that vanished that we have no clue about
we are barely 23% into knowing every single vanished manga and we don't even have an official list
ts is cooked, ong we never recovering💔

7000 titles
handed over to NamiComi
"w-we're not shutting down"

Spineless cowards. This site is officially over and you've dealt a massive damage to the entire non-Japanese manga community because you wanted to play "safe" and refuse to just bin the DMCA like every other site or just warn people beforehand. You cannot fucking make THE largest non-official manga distribution site and still act like your are a 100% legal business that needs to comply with every whim of the corporations.

Goodbye weebs, it's been a bash. See you somewhere else.

Well all I can say is it was fun while it lasted, the lives in the seven seas is truly unpredictable. Unfortunately I cant trust things no more as we all know previous sites were shutdown like this and given to other groups of people.

9 "We will not disclose or volunteer users' personal data unless we have been compelled by a court of law to do so."
So you will. You laid down against DMCA, you fill fold to the first push again, don't delude yourselves.

10 "For the size of the website and the community, the core team is small, and we have to prioritise our time well."
So I guess the site being nuked and transparency isn't your first priority huh. But begging for donations is.

13 "NamiComi has accepted to take management of the site and its domain"
You just contradicted what you said in point 9.
When did I agree to get my data sold to the highest bidder?

You guys are incompetent. As soon as I export my follow list I will delete my account and never look back.
What a fucking embarrassment.

I don't think they are handing it over. pretty sure they are selling it, but keeping it a "secret".
why else someone would be handing over a website with a huge traffic?
there are people who sell youtube channels or telegram channels with less "subscribers", than there are registered users here.

i don't care if they sold the site or not. its the same people anyway.

as of now Mangadex has no future. as far as i understand the site will be turned into a hub for creators/ selfpublishers to become legal. But nami comi is already such a hub. why should there be 2 sites with the same modus operandi run by the same people ???
makes no sense.

as a still paying subscriber i want answers to the questions i asked here already multiple times.

again:

i always thought very highly of MD and its operators and i don't expect anyone to catch a bullet personally.
nontheless this situation is handled poorly. very poorly.

no official announcement, just sneaky changes to TOS/ Rules.

trying to keep all the details unter the rug is cowardly. whoever threatened you cant demand to stay anonymous if they are in the right.

If you want to i can write a template statement for you and you just fill in the gaps !

Are you guys even still reading here ?

Can anyone more knowledgeable about this share some light on why many sites like Mangadex never (1) give users an early notice, and (2) refuse to share information about what exactly has been affected (list of series dmca-ed)? I've seen some sites that actually provide some notice on when content actually goes down so is it actually illegal or just personal choice of the owners? Just really curious about the discrepancy in actions taken by different parties.

Sorry to ask, but where/how can I download a list of titles I follow? Not finding it.

Someone made a tool to extract your library ( not sure if reddit links are allowed but I don't care at this point.)

Just follow the instructions, it's pretty simple. I used it 20 minutes ago. You can then import the file in Excel or similar software.
