My guess is that either the terror he felt in the moment somehow activated his OP hero powers causing his stick attack to be fatal, or it’s a misunderstanding and a monster killed his father and for some reason he’s misremembering it

it's not like he slaughtered the whole village but given the way the father was acting in a flashback seems like it could've been an abusive parent to begin with

You get a sufficiently long, pointy, and sturdy object (roughly 3-4.5 feet, or 1-1.4 meters), get it between the ribs on the left side roughly a half-foot (~13-15cm) below the armpit at an upward angle, and you can puncture the lung in at least two places and even get the heart.

Instant lung collapse & onset asphyxiation alongside massive amounts of rapid blood loss, and death would be within minutes on the outside.

Would be honestly ridiculously easy if the target wasn't ready for it, especially since Leon was at a height compared to his father for the near-optimal angle, at that time, and that stick he had in that flashback looked almost perfect for the job.

I'm a bit surprised at Ange's plan here, that's obviously gonna fumble. Back in Chapter 22, we already saw Jelly bring the grapes to the village (which I presume they're going to with this grape sapling) while Ange was there, and Ange heard that they wanted to start growing the grapes on their own. When they show up and inevitably the villagers have already started cultivating these grapes without her, she's probably gonna be shocked, but man she probably should've investigated a little beforehand, lmao.

that part kinda weird me out. Unless he swung it pointy-end out and snagged onto his dad's side and it stuck into him that way, I don't see how that amount of blood loss occurs.

Or it wasn't properly drawn/rendered out to indicate his dad got stabbed, or it's some sort of "misremembering" on Leon's part and what he recalls isn't what truly happened, for Plot Reasons.
