Damn.. at this point I'd love to watch an anime like up to 200+ chapters ahead. This is so much fun to read. Thanks a lot for the translation.

My boi BERU is here.

@Zanked
Seems like a slight change in how some lines or scenes are added/omitted but so far everything has been heading in the same direction.

With how people had hyped things up for this arc, I can't help but feel very disappointed how easily he dispatched the ant. His fight with Igris is probably still my most favorite one out of all the others.

@ninjadork "To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Solo Levelling..."
In all seriousness, a deep story is absolutely not one of the praises I hear for this series even for the WN. I've heard it's not even all that good honestly, especially with stuff like the Japanese sublot and characters that get used once and never again among other things.

The manhwa elevates it with its art immensely, and even attempts to remedy some of the issues I mentioned in the WN a bit, by mellowing down the Japanese characters and their schemes, as well as giving a bit more screentine to characters who didn't nearly have as much originally.

@tersione

ant was about as strong as the demon king.

jin-woo beats demon king.

ant is now weak shit compared to him, it's simple math.

If I learned anything from the Japanese, if MC revived the ant queen, he could have had an insect loli or mature lady. I am disappoint. 😂

@Tersione The plot in the wn got out of hand so i personally dropped it after
he became the shadow monarch,
so i kinda get what youre talking about there. The artist is doing a great job on this.

imo, the part thats most exciting about this arc is him showing his powers out of nowhere. Im a sucker for these scenarios.

and yeah, manwha changed some stuff as well for the better. Japs basically went "Let's help, then abandon" on them and got killed in the process (then still get exposed) iirc.

@Tersione (For the record, I haven't read any LN / WN - I'm measuring this manwha on its own.)

Don't be a dishonest cactus-fucking shithead: That's not what I said, and you fucking know it.

"...not one of the praises I hear for this series even for the WN..." I don't acknowledge argumentem ad populam - there are a lot of manga readers (including on this website) who by their own admission don't want a complicated story. They want something where all the salient details are laid out for them and there's no need to read between the lines. Which is fine - but this isn't one of those stories. If you try to read it like that, it's going to be disappointing.

As has been stated earlier, this entire story has been filled with rather blunt hints that there is more going on behind the scenes. The monsters have not just sentience, but culture and stories of their own. The stone monsters at the beginning of the series have not been touched on since, but it was made apparent that they had a purpose and will, and probably some variant of intelligence. The dungeons connect to each other in weird and twisting ways that make it possible for a hunter to walk in, disappear, and come out many years later somewhere else. And on two separate occasions it is shown that something is manipulating these monsters, wiping and resetting them like computer programs if they step out of line.

Whether or not the manwha adequately uses these plot extensions is up for debate, and there's certainly room for them to fuck up the series. I'm not entirely happy with how monochromatically the MC interacts with the people / setting around him either: IATSK is much better at that IMO, and the MC's lack of character / competition in recent chapters certainly makes me understanding of claims of Marty Stu-dom.

But to claim that the artwork is the only major selling point is to do exactly what I've accused you of: turning your brain off.

1 Ant King to destroy 4000 ants in a instant.

That's Big Beru for you.

@Mikado-kun

Oh, he did. But then cancelled it because A. she's a shadow, no sex organs. B. Conflict of leadership.

@kazu19 So you read all the way to beginning of the climax and then dropped it?.... seems disingenuous.

If it were a "new chapter every week still going zombie" webnovel, sure. But it has a clear end point, so just seems weird to drop it there.

As a reader of the Novel and Manhwa(Manhua?IDK) version, I never find it boring in reading these comments every new chapter.
The novel is great and all but it could be better. I mean, in the novel, the author puts the nihonjin in a really bad light like he really hates them.
At least in this one, he made them somewhat acceptable but still assholes.
