@Limimelo Lol China deserves no apology for anything, or at least isn't in a position to demand one, and certainly has no right to lecture ANYONE on hiding past crimes. Not unless they stop threatening anyone that even mentions tiananmen square. Or acknowledges the numerous human rights violations reported in recent years.
Yes Japan has some black points in it's history and the government's refusal to acknowledge some of them is disappointing. But that in no way justifies this kind of biased bigotry and excessive stigmatization of an entire country to the point that it's considered acceptable for the MC to choose to let an entire nation to massacured because his sister is scared. Like I get he's worried about her but how is her feelings alone more important that the entirety of Japan?
And if it was JUST his hesitating then it wouldn't be so bad. But we already saw the author's absolute contempt towards the Japanese with the Jeju Island arc where all of the Japanese hunters were depicted as selfish, arrogant, backstabbing assholes that tried to wipe out the Korean hunters in a fixed raid. Oh and OF COURSE only the Japanese hunters got slaughtered in that arc but the MC rushes to the rescue when the Korean hunters are backed into a corner with I think only the healer hunter being a note worthy death.
So he author already took shots at the Japanese a couple arcs ago! And then took more when the Japanese hunter Rep tried to negotiate the Jeju island incident and got shut down ... and now we're taking EVEN MORE SHOTS!?!
This is beyond just using another country as the villain of an arc. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the author leaped for joy when they saw news of the earthquake and Tsunami that devastated Japan. Author needs to get their act together and not letting their cultural biase influence their work so heavily. They can hate Japanese all they want but their readers don't need to know about it.
