I'm surprised this is a .5 chap. Feels like it could be a normal chap unto itself. Sure the whole mc living with them for a week might be a bit out of the blue for a normal chapter, but since the purpose of him living there is to show the mom how much the mc does normally. The same could happen if the author just had the mom come over to the mc's house for a bit.
