I can relate to that. My younger daughter is asperger and had a rough time when young and at school. We were often lost, not knowing what to do. Despite that, now that she's almost 25, she keeps telling us that she was incredibly lucky to have us as parents, because we supported her and tried to understand her. I have the feeling she beautifies things a bit but it still obvious that despite our many failures, she still felt supported and that what was the most important thing to her.

not totally clear yet. basically they just implied that Nanamom had a rough childhood. Also I think there was a chapter where Nanami talks to her mom about first (date? kiss? something?) and it seems like Nanamom and Nanadad got married at like 19 or 20 iirc. So yeah there's some as-yet mysterious backstory. Likely never to be fully revealed I think.

My glasses are over 18 years old now. They're the only pair I've ever had. Rims, lenses, the whole deal. They work fine and I like them so I've never felt a need to get new ones.
