I don't see what you consider "extreme" about it. They're people, yes. And they're ugly.
I'd have understood calling it "extreme" if I mentioned that I recoiled in disgust when I clicked onto the first of those pages, but simply stating the fact they're ugly is not "extreme".

I came here just to see if someone else thought it was the Coelacanth haha. I swear almost all of my fish knowledge comes from Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City lol

Rather than the past couple centuries, it was surprisingly only the December of 1938 when they were rediscovered of the coast of South Africa, and they are still pretty elusive to this day with only around ~330 documented sightings since its rediscovery. Pretty interesting stuff, to me at least haha

... I actually had read that just moments before I was writing that, but when I went to double-check, I glanced at the wrong line and saw the wrong date, so improperly amended my statement to what you saw. The year when they were first named just happens to be nearly a full century earlier than when we discovered the living specimens, so it threw me off. It's no excuse, though.

Brain: Hmm... 1839 looks like 1938. Must be the right year. Oh well. incorrectly adjusts statement from 'less than a century' to 'past couple centuries'

I love that she made it so convincing by dovetailing it with Marin's own reasons for wearing make-up: because she enjoys it herself, it's not just something to show off for somebody else's sake. Hitting 3 birds with one stone: Marin is fired up, saleslady gets a sale (and a potential return customer), Wakana possibly gets to enjoy a sexy view. Everyone wins.

The nose looks wrong for Coelacanth, more like a sturgeon or gar. Both are old, though not as old as Coelacanths.

I read in a sales training booklet that when a customer says "no", you should not take that as a rejection. Instead understand that the customer is giving valuable information. With a little more information, you can have a better idea of what they are after, and then you can offer a product that fits their desires more perfectly.
