ok, so Gorilla is confirmed to be a shadow warrior. Also massive Hype for Lineal. No matter the context to even get Serie on her knees at any point in time is insane for a human mage. Remember Macht? he couldn't even do anything to Serie. She played with him like a toy. So Lineal must be insane in combat to be able to do that and for Serie to trust her enough to send her on this dangerous of a mission. I thought before that the strongest human mage might be Lernen but I guess in combat Lineal might just be the strongest human mage so far?

The empire also did dissolve the shadow warriors so what the shadow warriors do right now isn't exactly what the empire wants right now? So it might become a three-way battle between the CMA, the Empire mages, and the shadow warriors?

Also no way Serie forgot about Frieren right? the disrespect lol saying she's the only one who remembers Flamme when Frieren is literally there still alive as well
I think she is talking about child flamme. Because flamme met frieren when she is already an adult.

Well, that’s shocking. So the Shadow Warriors are essentially nationalist extremists. So much so that they would point their blades at their own people, even those of high power or position. No wonder they got disbanded. They would probably kill the royal family too if they believed them to be a threat to the country.

So I was right that the Shadow Warriors are actually involved in the internal political strife in the empire that the emperor was forced to dissolve the organization. I was expecting of corrupt politicians and nobles but it's worst, radicalized loyal individuals of the empire who seeks to manipulate the empire to a certain direction.

I'm now curious on what direction they want the empire to take. They have seen and hunted in the dark so they might have seen and heard things that nobody can easily get access to which might had forced them to do this things. Will it be the destruction and reforging of the empire thru war or something else entirely?

So...this Shadow Warrior is basically a rogue organization who decided to assassinate Serie on their own without the Emperor knowing?? That's nuts. They could be accidentally start a war.

We already seen Walross to be Shadow Warrior's member, but for Gorilla bro is also a member that unexpected. I wonder how he joined Shadow Warrior.

As someone else pointed out that's usually CIA Spooks and special teams. Fun fact, the CIA isn't technically part of the military, which is why they're always doing shit without congressional oversight and usually getting away with it.

My point wasn't that the US doesn't let war crimes happen, because of course it does, but like, some random E-4 isn't allowed to do whatever they want just because they believe it to be for the good of the country. They absolutely will get thrown in jail or used as a scapegoat, even if it's a US prison after an internal investigation rather than handing them over to a foreign body.
You're partially right. There are cases where US Soldiers (Or hired mercenaries) commit crimes and receive punishments. There are also times when those crimes go unpunished, usually by Status of Special Forces Agreements (SOFA). Just a few examples off the top of my head... 2002 Yangju Bridge Incident in South Korea. Soldiers driving in a military convoy struck and killed two 14 year old girls, per the SOFA agreement they were deemed not guilty. 2005 A soldier was sentenced 6 years for rape in Italy, but was extradited to the US and never served time. 1995 Gang rape by us soldiers of a japanese teen. No convictions after the soldiers were extradited to the US. There are tens of thousands of these examples, as the US maintains some 800 permanent bases.

Those are all individual crimes. If we want to talk about mass crimes as part of the chain of command, examples.

Really hope they aren't just deathflagging her like this. I said from the very beginning this is probably the highest the stakes have been for so many human/elf characters that at least one waifu is probably gonna bite it this arc.

Pretty sure she meant that nobody is old enough to remember what Flamme was like as a smiling young girl, not even Frieren, because that was before they met.

Can't speak to how it might work in your country, but my understanding of the US military is that you are "expected" to follow the Rules of Engagement and any international laws on war crimes that the US officially recognizes, regardless of whatever your orders are. So while yes, you are allowed to act independently if chain of command breaks down or communication is impossible, that doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with impunity. Obviously people will fuck up here, intentionally or otherwise, but that's why court martials exist.

The way the Shadow Warriors seem to operate is that there aren't any rules of engagement and they don't answer to any laws. They could basically kill anyone at any time for any reason they deemed fit without having to answer to any political authority, not even the emperor. That's less like a military body and more like a secret police.
No chain of command means no authority to go over their head, and control them but also means you are free to crush them with force.

It's Löwe. Löwe is Gorilla. Same hair colour, both animal names, and the scarred face probably stems from his battle with Minus.

(i'm pretty bad with names)
I think only the Noble-looking guy(the leader), The guy who helped Sein, and the One they faced earlier are part of the real last remains of the Shadow Warriors.

I believe everyone else was recruited for the leader in order to continue their "mission" disregarding the will of the emperor that outlawed them, with the excuse that the empire is going out of rails.

And i think Gorillas was recruited for his mentality of being a Hero and that he is fighting the darkness inside the empire that now controls it.

This couldn't possible matter less, but is "Emeritus" the name of the emperor, or are they talking about an emperor who retired and thus became an "emperor emeritus"?
(The latter would be rather in line with Japanese history, but this manga does have a habit of using regular words as names; mostly German, but some English : sense, fern, stark)
