Well, what can you do, a useless gimick like food porn may help to get more attention but will never be a blessing for the ratings, since most readers can't help but view the rest of the whole story as gimicky as well. This story may be pretty conventional and not too original, but the lack of a gimmick will at least help it have better ratings.

When I read the last chapter (14) I predicted that the rating will go down somehow.

And it really does!

why

Maybe the direction of the story is going in a bit weird direction...?

@Firstkungzaa Going by the comments, if I had to guess, the ratings went down because people thought that having 100% sociopathic demons instead of misunderstood horned wooies will lead to real world racism, or is problematic or something like that.

Slow paced, good character building, reminds me of Spice & Wolf a bit. Very enjoyable.

Reminds me of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. Although it's a slice of life instead of adventure fantasy.

Both give "mono no aware" vibes, and I like it.

Mono no Aware (in Japanese: ็‰ฉใฎๅ“€ใ‚Œ) is a sad nostalgic feeling that you get when you gain awareness that everything is impermanence. The realization that something beautiful is not going to last forever will intensify your appreciation towards that thing. It is the feeling that will make you realize how wonderful it is to come across such rare and fleeting existence. (quoted from sofanmax blogspot)

It's quite saddening if Ch. 14 was really the reason why the ratings dropped but tbh it's true and it makes sense.
No one would know the terror of something that happened decades ago and when you consider the difference of the races' life duration in the story, only the one's who would be able to remain and remember it would have the resolve :((

Thank you so much for the translation! It really touches a part of me that I didn't know I have.
