[Suggestion] Option to remove "featured titles" and "new titles" slideshow

Hello, is possible to disable these two slideshow at the bottom of the main page or at least make the slideshow not play by default?
Seems it waste a big portion of resources on my browser and the cpu constantly work to keep this slideshow active, infact this problem doesn't happen and the memory usage decrease a lot if i use any page where there isn't this slideshow active.

Not a priority but can be appreciated if i can disable it in the options or turn the autoplay off by default. Thanks for reading.

The home page have lot of things in there so it's kinda normal if it use more resources. I'm not sure if they really take that much resources considering even my $200 phone can handle browsing through MD while switching between apps

Well, customization is the base for a good service, prefer my donations go there, to improve the quality of the infrastructures and navigation interface instead of community and comments. 😀

You can remove them using uBlock Origin.

Edit: Well, in your case it's not an option I guess since uBO can't make network filter for these elements. Just cosmetic filters. uBO wil just hide them but they will still scroll resource-wise :/

Personally, two things I'd like to see for the carousels at the bottom of the main page are:
- change it so that it's paused by default
- change it so that when you click the next or previous button, it shifts an entire row/window at a time

I don't usually look at the featured titles and new titles slideshows, but when I do, I tend to sift through them at super speed. (I did the same for the recent updates carousel on the front page of Kissmanga, back when I still frequented that site.)

It'd also nice to also be able how many pages in I am, so that I know when I've looped back...

Somewhat unrelated, but what are the criteria for a manga to be on featured title?
It seems different from top manga/chapters, yet it feels redundant anyway.

Well, I would like to hide 'Follow MangaDex' and reduce amount of latest updates too if customization is possible.

@ununseti - Indeed i prefer the whole widget go away based on personal options but your suggestion can also be a good compromise that will surely improve the GUI performance.

A customizable frontpage is one of my long term goals.

A comment on memory usage specifically: Stopping or never starting the carousel makes no difference to the amount of memory it uses. The main page creates about 20MB memory snapshots whereas a regular title page such as 5toubun creates about 17MB ones.
