currently caught up (c42) then took a look at the mangaka and artist other works and found out they had other ongoing works. Then i kept feeling like this manga is just a side project, kinda frustated at how this manga turned out and felt like this could have been something more.

If you really want to know, Ichi eventually dies in the middle of a huge fight and Eliza saves him by merging the two of them together in chapter 42. Far as we can tell at the time of this writing, it seems as if she might be gone and he just controls the body.
It was interesting at first, but it pretty quickly devolves into the shitshow I probably should've expected when seeing who the artist is, I guess I was just hoping he wouldn't have any input; maybe he doesn't, and the author and artist just write really similar stories, and that's why he was chosen. Not really worth keeping up with, but I might check back when it's finished just to see how horrible the ending is.

That being said, I would highly recommend you don't take this series seriously, or get too attached to the characters. It's going to fuck you up emotionally.
I have mixed feelings now that I have read up to Chapter 42.
To be honest, I was expecting a wholesome read, but after reading this trainwreck for a while, I can definitely say that it's not the case anymore. I'm permanently dropping this manga.
That's not to say that you guys can't read it as well. Just proceed with caution, as it may not sit well with some audiences like me.

Protagonist is forced to get cucked. Eliza was forced into kissing the POS fucker, producing more of the "balls" or children, while the protagonist is restrained by guards and forced to watch from behind the glass.

At first, I thought that the protagonist was just gonna live his everyday life with these weird alien girls, supporting his harem. But, I was proven wrong after seeing gore, which was unexpected. I sort of predicted that this series would take off in a different direction, and oh boy it totally did. I didn't expect to see full-on action fight scenes and it basically became horror at that point. On top of that, there are distressing themes such as NTR which I do not support, yet I still wanted to keep on reading for the chance that the protagonist will get his revenge. But I was totally disproven after Chapter 42. I feel like the protagonist will get taken advantage of in some way, probably will be raped by that POS fucker in upcoming chapters.

I usually don't mind about NTR, as long as it is off-screen or in hardcore hentai. But the scene at that particular chapter pissed me so much, despite the characters not actually engaging in any sex.
Hopefully, the protagonist will be able to seek some form of salvation in the end, but if not, then the author is totally fucked up in the head. Not that I will be able to read the manga anytime soon, probably forever at the time of reading Chapter 42.

It was supposed to be provocative and make you feel things. That's not a failing on the part of the author. You just went into the manga thinking it was going to adhere strongly to very specific tropes that you find comfort in and not try anything else. The manga is far from perfect, but I have a different view on it. I like manga that get weird and show me something new and strange that I've maybe not seen before, even if they sometimes stumble in telling their story.

Yeah, I know that it was supposed to evoke some kind of emotion and I'm not afraid to express my opinion on how I felt at the time. I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't feel anything at all because I'm still human.
The story isn't all that bad and the scenes can get really crazy where I felt the need to express my shock, discontent or uncomfort. It's like a sort of guilty pleasure, as I feel intrigued, yet wondering why the hell I'm reading this, just like any other manga. Still, the scene is still hella fucked up no matter how anyone puts it IMO. I can't imagine being in the protagonist's shoes and forced to watch the person I care about be forcefully kissed, then producing these kind of alien offspring. It's almost like the equivalent of weird sex, in a way, at least in this universe.
I know it's fiction and I like engaging in these kind of talks about the themes and imagery portrayed.
