So far this one is middling at best for me. I was starting to get my hopes up but it employed one of my least favorite tropes. I'd like to have the comment be something that isn't a spoiler but it's something plot related by nature so here goes.
I dislike when characters lack or give up their agency and force other characters to solve their problems. It's not like I can't understand if someone is overpowered by someone else or blackmailed but I do have standards on whether they allow themselves to be compelled to do things against their self-interest or how much they assist people they know are bad. I give some credit for rendering aid as part of an overarching plan to accomplish their goals rather than doing it because they lack the means to use it to their advantage.
So, all of that is to say I am getting frustrated by how passive our MC here is and how that ties into the original premise. I'd like to see when it all does pay off but it seems like it'll be long and drawn out. And I'm sure MC will be too nice to be the major player in achieving her own happiness, she's the type of person that only exists to make others happy and it's up to them to make her happy in return cause she's unable to grasp that for herself. Anytime she's surrounded by awful people instead of good people, she's a liability to everyone because she'll help them too.
ETA: I obviously have not read whatever this story is based on so I have no idea what is actually going to happen later. It could be that MC will go through character growth to learn to be a little more selfish, I dunno. I suppose that I'm not as fond of characters who have to learn that, cause they're frustrating to watch pandering to assholes until they do.
