Yeah, I was going to drop this as well. The characters are way too simple (caricatural, even) in their writing.

"The good guys are never wrong, the bad ones are never right". That kind of story is (almost) always doomed to fail if it doesn't take the path of the 100% pure comedy. And this is one of those.
And as expected, it is in the failing ones.
