in a previous chapter, where the monsters were about to attack her but backed off because they sensed the strength of her teammate, she said that the trap expired which is why she needed to set it up again. So this may be a mistranslation where, instead of the trap detecting a monster, it just needed to be set again which is why she thought it was safe. (When in fact, resetting the detection trap after it expired means she's going in blind since monsters could be around and not detected.)

But yeah, this carelessness will get her killed.

Definitely, but we don't really know if she can tell that. Since it's the second time it happened, it might be that she pours roughly a certain quantity of magic and has a rough estimate of know long it lasts but doesn't have the exact timing. She's also shown that she needs to check manually that the threads are still there though she apparently gets notified when a monster is detected. It's a bit odd honestly since she appears to be linked to the trap but can't replenish the threads with magic to make sure they persist.

Or maybe she just slept through it. As in, a monster went through the trap and dragged the threads away, so the trap was triggered, but the monster is also long gone since she can't sense it with the remaining threads.

It'd be nice to know how it works but I guess that for now the rules are how they need to be so she can get mauled by monsters like in the story.
