2. Weiss arrives in time to rescue.
3. Allen does the saving.
4. Shirley dies.
5. The mangaka spilled ink so skillfully that it only affected that small panel, plus it looked like blood splattering.
6. The manga gets axed and we'll never know what happens.

You know nothing, what if someone had a certain goal and besmirched his name, while the guy was too busy surviving his lessons with Milk? Didn't think about that, huh? All he did was a few bad things years ago and then he "reformed" yet she doesn't acknowledge it. Like for her, as long as you were a (bad) noble once, you can't be good.
She also spent so much time in this forest already, she should have know how dangerous it is to be alone. Not only that, this is literally the 2nd time the same exact shit happens. Just wake up your partner for a minute, this is literally a training mission in the most prestigious academy that trains future heroes/powerhouses with the spartan-tier training regime in a forest of death.

The spanish translations says that the trap got deactivated instead of triggered (likely because the effect ran out), and given the situation I find more likely for that one to be the correct one.
