Rather refreshing.
It was made very clear in the earliest chapters and maintained throughout that Lieze just wanted to marry him for money..
Hell, even in this chapter she outright said with fervor that if she successfully catch him she'll be able to make him grant her gifts she can sell off for money at that store.
Making it quite clear that if there even are any feelings involved, they're definitely nowhere near as important to her as wanting to use him as a cash-cow.
(That he makes no advances is a bonus though, means she wouldn't have to offer much of herself to him if they got married, unlike various suitors.)
Guess alot of people have bad memories, because it's been clear she's a gold-digger all along that just seek a source of trinkets for her to sell off, with minimal effort required to maintain.
Also, it wasn't Zirconia that made Lieze start hunting for him, Lieze started making such plans even before he met her family for the first time.
Zirconia just happened to notice and then tried to support that hunt since if he entered a relationship he'd likely go even further with his assistance.
Zirconia always had a rather passive approach too preparing all kinds of things incase he'd ask for them, take the maids being told to be ready incase but never being told to attempt anything as one example.
(Interaction between Zirconia and Lieze also made it clear it's Lieze pushing Zirconia into getting more pushy rather than passive with supporting her advances towards the guy.)
Anyways, refreshing seeing a gold-digger accidentally selfdestruct like that.
(Slightly edited after realizing some parts were too likely to be misunderstood.)
