Quick question: is the slow (ish) release of chapters because of the translators (no judgement or anything, finding raw is hard) or is it because this manga just releases slowly?
No matter what, I give my thanks to the awesome people who translated this 👍

fifteen hundred years?
1500
I also use fifteen hundred and other words like that instead of saying one thousand five hundred.

What he is lacking is not ambition, but negotiations ability: during the last 500 years she has lacked the economic incentive, or the ability alltogether, to retake that land. With his coming, the difficulty and the cost necessary to military retake that place has only increased: her only choices would be to either acknowledge the new management, and get paid taxes for it, or deny his de facto ownership, and get only pains in the ass for it.

Or hope the new owner is dumb enough to give it away for free, which apparently is the case here...

My guess:
  1. Maybe the original uploader got somehow banned, and the chapters got unlisted because of that.
  2. HDMI1 filled up the (at that time) missing chapters.
  3. After a while someone (mods?) re-listed them under the upload-bot Contributor.
    • It's possible, that Contributor was the original uploader, I don't remember.

What made that particular governor qualified, though? She's probably just someone the queen has personally trained, with zero personal strength. She's someone only as long as people recognise her official authority. If Kakyu had a different sort of personality, and he actually cared (had the ambition the queen saw missing), he would keep ignoring the governor and doing things his way. The more he involves her, the more power he gives her and removes from himself. But alas, even after 2000 years in Hell, Kakyu still has a solid Japanese salaryman mentality. When the queen told him the governor is the senpai, Kakyu's fate was sealed.

I'm really thinking he should let it be. He's not suited for an actual noble life. So, being a landless noble is better for him. He's as powerful if not more powerful than the gods of that world, so why exactly does he need to slowly gain the royal house's trust to figure out what happened to Erza? He could probably just invade people's minds in their sleep and gain the information that way. He's an overpowered demon, after all. Invading sleep and possession are their natural talents.
