I didn't say whose love interest she was, and the conclusion is obvious by the end of the chapter. But mostly it was a joke about how frequently he gets new ones.

No, I don't. You're too busy trying to correct people that you forget the context, which is common for you. That's not the modern world, so using modern laws doesn't make sense. And if it was criminal, they should've been talking about arresting them, not just stopping their argument.

Even a king cant simply kill of their nobles without a really good reason or evidence. Otherwise other nobles would oppose them too. He is punishing the guy as much as he can and has evidence, while investigating more. Thats how politics work without letting your country going to shit really fast.
Regarding Cain beeing an apostle, he simply doesnt want to flaunt that around because if it would become public his own life would be dictated by the expectations of all the people in the world. He can live more freely that way. Even if his position would be basically the highest right after the gods, it doesnt mean he can then do everything he wanted too. Because it would directly reflect and influence the faith of the people in the gods etc.

Regarding demon butler it is the point that he conforms to mostly the laws and Cains mindset, simply because if Cain decides that demons are bad and wages war, they will get eradicated without a chance to fight back. The fat noble is an annoyance but not a dangerous threat either, so instead of doing moves that could bite them back, they decide to get evidence to get rid of him without disadvantages.

There is no reason directly always going for turture, blood and killing. That has absolutely NOTHING to do with beeing useless, incompetent or wimpy or anything like that. To sound wuite a bit harsher here: People like you are what I refer to as "murder-hobos" , basically people who would go around and kill everybody they dont like or offends them no matter how little.
Which also makes me pray that such people never get power in any way or form.

You need to brush up on your law; what occurred was textbook (Aggravated) Assault with a Deadly Weapon by Threat. While in our world standards yes your right. One big difference is the norm of carrying a weapon. Carrying a blade is totally normal there, which is why they generally don't count the weapon as in play till drawn as to draw it means a willingness to use it. If they get in a brawl but don't draw their weapon it just treated as a unarmed fight.

On another note, with regards to Lilenne's guards. This is why you treat everyone you don't know with respect, even people first presented to you as being your inferior. Not only is it the decent thing to do...you never know if that person is really a bigshot, knows someone who is, or even becomes your boss in the future.
