Follows the novel in that, though I think the 4th novel trotted her out as a new side character. Then again, that was a noblewoman, and this is a maidservant, so I dunno what they were thinking. Also this one gets to interact with Tilty and all.

But the manga has made various changes to the source material, perhaps as the author had Better Ideas; the big duel between Anis and Euphie had a lot of changes.

Kind of easy to prevent people from falling from the sky. Set up a circuit that can measure/manage the total charge and once the charge reaches a minimum value the airdra automatically slows and descends to the ground before it runs out of magic entirely.

Heck we have entire procedures for these kinds of things for aircraft to measure burn rates, flight times, landing weights and the like.

Kinda like a parachute, basically just another safety layer to hopefully get you to the ground and minimize risk of death.

It's basically what the title and what Anis has been done all this time. Experiment, development for revolutionary system (which also comes with its own risk).

A nice chapter, and it is indeed soul crushing that the manga is ending in 1 more chapter. But it was a good run...

I remember reading some details about the next part of the story and can someone refresh me to why neither anime or manga will continue when it sounds more promising than the "intro" parts we got so far. The bits with Euphie slowly losing her humanity and trying to keep it as best as she can, Anis almost dying and becoming something more than a human afterwards and the reaction of neighbouring countries to the two of them. Honestly, all of them sounds very interesting, so to just end everything here with this seems bizarre to me.

We can't 'refresh' you about things we don't know.
The studios and publishers make their decisions, they don't explain them.
At least the title got decent stopping points. WataOshi anime was like if MagiRevo ended after killing the dragon.

I'll try to explain, but I believe the big issue is rooted in the 12-episode batches modern anime is ordered in, and the struggle to pace stories around that.

First, credit where credit is due, the MagiRevo anime is a great LN adaption (especially given the constraints). Not just because of the story, but also how self-contained it is. It doesn't suddenly stop before we get any payoff like most adaptions have to. And the payoff scene we get with Anis and Euphy is incredible.

BUT that scene was at the end of book 3. And the end to this arc is actually book 4, which covers the time between Euphy making the contract and being crowned. This is actually one of my favorite books, but they already had to remove chunks of 3 to make the 12 episode count, so including 4 was impossible.

This puts the anime in a situation where a season 2 has to make the final part of the last arc feel like the start of a new arc (which isn't impossible actually). Then pivot to book 5 which is a transitional book between major arcs. And then either end on book 5 (probably the best choice) or adapt just the start of the next arc (which could be awkward). If anime could go back to 24 episode seasons, they could do all of the above and more. But 12 episode batches just don't pace well with a lot of light novels. It would take multiple cours to get to the parts in your spoiler.

Also Diomedéa is one of the smaller animation studios, probably why MagiRevo still doesn't have a dub despite it's success. So their resources are more limited.

Now why does this affect the manga? Basically because the manga is following the anime's lead. It would take over a decade for the manga to adapt all 13+ light novels at it's current pace, and Pierro has already moved onto their next work. So they probably figured "if this end point worked for the anime, it'll work for the manga".

I suppose there is at least one good thing about this manga ending: I will not have to read ever again about how some stupid thing in it is because of the source material. If something only makes sense because novels or whatever, then that's a bad adaptation. Hell, from what I see from the commenters, I wish they changed more, not less.

In all seriousness I liked the manga for what it was but it always felt like a really inefficient use of paper. You could probably fit like double the amount of plot in it, if it just had normal pacing. Somehow they made a choice that everyone should just talk, talk, talk.

Regaarding the actual chapter, you'd think she'd develop something along the lines of a parachute - or at least magical device involving a similar principle of slowly descending.

I was planning to leave out any more if my frequent gripes about the squandered political potential of the series until it ended, but this chapter did mention "freedom." Even after everything that's happened, freedom is still something that none of the major characters truly have. Everyone is still ultinately trapped in a caste system from which the only real escape is its destruction.

Until the people achieve actual political self-determination, none of them - royal, noble, and commoner alike - will ever be truly free of their society's chains.

Seeing all the new technology, I was about to say that I felt that it would've been better if the manga ended last chapter, but then I see people saying that there's only 1 chapter to go. Then I heard that this isn't even half of the content in the Light Novel... I felt like everything was already solved and there was nothing else to do besides her magic technology. I am honestly curious for what the Light Novel has to offer, but still reluctant because what I read until now in the manga feels ''enough'' for the story. Of course, I didn't read the Novel, so I don't know anything nor my thoughts matter. This is just how I felt after all chapters.
