TL translated the ED notes. Same Author and Artist, Akira (輝).
And he/she says:
- It's their first publication in that magazine (so genre/tone)
- First work to be serialized
- First work to make it into volume print format
This is a novice/rookie mangaka's work. It explains the pacing, plot, and tone problems.
Ones where a (original) author's WN is made by a (different) artist have different issues.
But they are more polished since they've gone through 2 or 3 editorial review phases.
(WN/Comments, LN/Publisher, then Manga/Editor).
Whereas this is (Idea -> Storyboard -> Draft -> Publish). Very few mangakas can do that well.
(Or you can even get revisionist ones who change their prior work, like Miura did.)
