Well, except for the very start, this is as good as any point in this manga to jump out of it, but I'll just take the opportunity here to go along with the flow.
I'm sorry for the translator though for choosing this, it did seemed like something nice in the first chapters.

Bro almost obliterated him. He'll probs be back for him after he gets stronger.
Also, they don't feel like slaves at all.

Thanks for the TL
I want to call that guy a D-tier mook, but he was at the very least defeated on screen, so he can be at least C-tier.

Also, Japan really needs to acknowledge the raging boner they have for slavery.

I think the difference is that the previous auction house and slave trade was located in the literal criminal city, whereas this is taking place in their own area that actually had standards and seems to be respectable.
while yes i agree with you but i think what people are kind of confused or outraged by is the literally heel turn and Mc's father basically just going "ITS SLAVE TIME!" with alot of enthusiasm

What? you get a ton magic stone, why not buy a sl... magic bag or spatial magic book

BTW why the slave center looks like a weird combination of old times/new order prison style of the Central American country El Salvador (weir analogy but that's kinda the vibe I see)

Its actually a bit of a pleasant surprise that when Mc bought them he actually bought 5 and 3 of them were men! (granted they might just be killed off sooner or later...)

Usually in theses generic isekais the ones bought are all women and all of them instantly fall for Mc for one reason or another.

Why is the slave building so cartoonlishly big and bare inside? It looks like "Bladerunner but make it Colonial"

LOL I've been saying this for a while now, but this manga adap can't stop itself from being a powerpoint presentation.
It's like "slide 1: topic for today is how to deal with bullies",
Then, "slide 2: topic for today - slavery" (- you can almost hear Martin Cabello's voice here)

agreed. First few chapters seems promising then it went downhill real quick

It would be nice to learn more about the slavery system there, seems like a boarding house.
Yeah, this feels like something they should address, because it's a deciding factor for a lot of people I figure. Who drew this man, they handled it so bad.

And reminder what's the plot about?
AFAICR, there isn't really a plot per se.
The God of this world made a whoopsie while trying 'to bring divine punishment to the world [he] oversees', and got brought to Normal World, which resulted in the death three Normal World Folks: The Ronin Who Became Mars, The Shopkeep Who Became Claris, and The Robber that was holding Claris-to-be at gunpoint. Because of this, he gave the three of them new lives in the world he oversees before he gets dissolved because he killed three people who were not subjects of his world.

The only hint of an overarching plot is Mars and Claris agreeing not to communicate in Japanese because that might allow Robber to recognize them without them spotting him.

Love how the MC and the girl are just totally cool with getting a slave considering they came from modern japan where there is no slavery. no being taken aback or having moral qualms about literally owning another person like a couch when you come from a world where that's kinda looked down on as bad and abhorrent.

yeah it is getting to a point where it feels like 1/2 of all isekais just love to hit the slavery button and then try and be like "no, but slavery actually has a lot protections for the slave" while just dancing around the fact that we're having to root for a mc who literally owns another human/demihuman like a freaking couch. it's icky.
