Humans are naturally lazy. We will go to any length to get a little more comfortable. Doing things more efficiently is one of the strongest drives for innovation. Even if it's about sleeping.

Small dogs tend to be more dangerous. Not because they're inherently so, but because they're easier to keep even if you don't train and socialise them properly. The bigger the animal, the better control you need to have over it. You can't just stop because your dog is the size of a rat.

Wouldn't you need to feed it? It'd probably need to be watered occasionally as well? This, and it may need to sit in the sun now and then, maybe?

I think if you bought a slime pillow, it should be treated as a pet as much as it is a piece of furniture.
