And I was in mixed company when I saw it. Fortunately, I was quick, but it could have played out differently.

You can still force them enabled in Settings -> Experiments; they just change their default state as April 1st comes and goes. They'll probably go away sometime in the end of the week.

I doubt mangadex will ever do that, but I personally don't like how busy it makes the front page anyway. To each there own of course; as others have said, it should be/is(?) toggle-able.
