But they generally use this manga's designs and visuals. I wonder if it will diverge more if we get a 3rd season or if the mangaka will work with the studio to make designs.

It seems so far S2 of the anime has been using similar designs from the other manga version

It's so strange the anime is probably gonna pass the manga in story. I know it's all just adapting the LN but still strange.

The manga is approaching the book 4 / season 2 finale, but there's no guarantee we'll get season 3 in a timely fashion. Meanwhile the manga will continue into book 5 territory relatively soon. I would love if we do get a season 3 announcement as soon as S2 finishes – I absolutely neeeeed S3's midseason / book 5's finale to be animated and more importantly voice acted – but I wouldn't expect the anime to break ahead of the manga any time soon

There are two separate manga for The Apothecary Diaries. I haven't read the other one yet but I heard it recently moved further ahead in the story than this one.

I really hope Jinshi hears exactly what Shen Mei did trying to execute MaoMao and responds in kind. Shen Mei had no idea MaoMao is a toxicology and Mithraditism otaku, after all.

Yeah, the GX version was already done with the Shi Clan Rebellion and now entering the events of LN Vol. 5

Important events in LN Vol. 5

1. Locust and the incoming locust swarm in the upcoming volumes, which means famine
2. Maomao's introduction as a La Clan Member and La Clan Princess. Also, a new hairpin for Maomao, courtesy of Zui
3. Rikuson and Maomao's dance, which means Zui producing angry frog noises
4. Zui proposes to Maomao and promises to get rid of any obstacle for their marriage
