For Jinshi specifically? Even if nobody else thinks he's a eunuch, he knows Maomao still thinks he is (the most unbelieveable part of the story) so why be all: "are you SURE I should eat it?" As if would she would reply anything other than "yeah go ahead it's good".

This is one of my favourite series but these little things always felt like I'm not picking up on stuff.

Jinshi is implying whether he should be eating that knowing the reason why the host served them that. After all, she isn't disguised as a frumpy maid at the moment. In the case of Maomao, she just doesn't care given her attitude on sex and love. Even later on when it's hinted that he might like her romantically,

So, about the meal. The soft shelled turtle was a strong aphrodisiac and the wine was fairly strong. I think someone mentioned before (different ch/manga?) that adding sweatners to alchol masks the harsh bight of potent alcohol. So I think the purpose of this dish was to get him wasted and horny so that he might practice yobai or "night crawling".

I already addressed that, Jinshi knows Maomao thinks he's an eunuch, meaning your testicle (and maybe even penis) is removed because it's China. So you lose all your sex drive and desire for women or whatever hence eunuch is allowed in the back court where the the palace ladies and consorts are and emperor can trust nobody's going to get assaulted (sexually at least).

So Maomao being an innocent oblivious girl who don't think there are bad men out there who would assault her when drunk and horny might indeed be a thing, but it's irrelevant when it comes to Jinshi of all people because for all she knows he doesn't even have a penis. And Jinshi knows she thinks that, so unless he's going to tell her "hey btw I know you think I'm an enunuch so I'm harmless but I'm actually fully functional down there so now what? Still feel comfortable around me and encourage me to eat these food? Aren't you afraid I'd become a carnal animal?" To which she may be like: "in that case you better not or I should excuse myself."

Which goes back to before I mentioned the most ridiculous notion in this story is Maomao haven't figured out Jinishi at the very least isn't a eunuch and could even be a very big shot, which means it'd be wise to not know too much so she didn't dig deeper. If she did figure out then everything now is acting and pretending she still thinks he's a harmless eunuch even though she knows if he eat the food he might turn super horny and harm her but that's just the risk she's willing to take in order to not be found out that she knows which might mean bigger danger.

Maomao does know he's a big shot though; she figured it out back in the Ah Duo case, actually. But because it's inconvenient for her to recognize that, she puts it out of her mind. She doesn't like to do anything or think of anything that isn't convenient for her at the time, and frankly, she's probably of the mind that Gaoshun would protect her or try to stop Jinshi in some way. Also, her father already warned her to stop speculating without all the facts, and she's mostly been trying to keep to that.

And she pretty much does think still that he's a eunuch, as evidenced by the fact that this is the "frog" arc. She isn't innocent nor oblivious, given where she works; but she just really feels uncomfortable around Jinshi because he's too damn pretty, and even the WN mentions she still struggles not to look at him like he's a slug/other disgusting insect.
