Maybe in the last 10-15 chapters you could see signs of the axe or at least he felt the pressure of falling out of popularity, the art became more simplified and the story tried to rush and put a hughe amount of info in the lesser space possible.
My main complain is how the sudden notification of the axe messes up everything, I mean you are mainly on a digital platform at least that should be enough to negotiate a couple of extra chapters and make a plan for a proper closing.
And Yukki got a moral victory at least.

What a bitter sweet kinda ending in a way.... cause one girl still died. And the girl/assistant still died in the real world right (cause of countdown boom) and ya...l but at least we got the sexy Yukiko back

All this author needed to do was deliver Yukiko fanservice every chapter, the first chapters were literally full of it, that was the hook, because he obviously doesn't know how to write. And why sell it as a romance when it isn't one.

@Xoldin I'd say it's ambiguous. They're traveling the world together and everything else is the same except Ai is dead.

You know that really cute girl/guy? You might have seen them working in a store, or just walking around town. Something small catches your eye and it makes them stand out. Maybe it's the way they smile at you even though it's obvious they are having a bad day. Maybe you yourself are having a bad day and looking at them makes you feel a sort of camaraderie. Maybe they are wearing a catchy t-shirt. Or you notice a small defect on their face that makes them even more attractive. Maybe you just like the way their hair looks. Could be anything, but you just know that person is a real catch. You want that person in your life.

Welp, turns out that cute person is high on meth, and has three meth babies, and two crack-addicted boyfriends/girlfriends. You didn't know that ending when you first saw them, but now you know. You sort of wish it had just stayed at the beginning, but that's over now. That glass is broken. It will never go back together the same way. All you're left with is your memories of the past and a feeling of being used, even though nothing really happened between the two of you. You might think life has betrayed you. But it didn't. It happens to everyone at least once. That girl/guy?

That is this manga.

This is probably one of he biggest manga flops ive ever read. Started out as a 8-9/10 series to being a 5/10 series that is honestly not worth reading.

Started this series partially because tits, partially because it seemed to be a Lovecraftian style suspense. What we got immensely disappointed me, but let's not dwell on that. Let's talk about this awful final chapter.

Ignoring everything else that built up to it, which was a trainwreck on its own, if you look at this chapter by itself, it still sucks. Yukiko appears with no explanation, and no one questions it. Ai's dead with a token explanation and there's no build up to it. Everything just sort of gets handed out with no lead up or anything. It just happens. We could've had Makoto slowly coming to terms with Ai's death and the fact that he'll never see it again, but he just sort of shrugs it off. We could've had an emotional reunion with Yukiko where both parties are glad she's alive, but she just shows up. There's no soul in it, and that's *awful.* The author just fast forwards 2 years into the future to bypass any and all consequences of what happens so that he doesn't have to struggle over writing it. No emotion, no effort. Makoto just got over it offscreen and now he's happy. Deal with it.
