They ARE 3rd years. In the US they would be HS Freshmen (assuming 4 year HS). It's young but not uncommon, especially on a school change because they feel more grown up (and the girls are easy targets for the "dazzling" upperclassman, not that it applies here).

I had to search for quite a while to find this data and you have to select grade in the table filters to see it. I thought these statistics would be far easier to find.

It's interesting that while in 9th grade males are more likely to have had sex but in the 12th grade females are more likely to have had sex. I guess that would seem to confirm that players are more likely to "get the girl" and timid guys stay timid guys.

What's "creepy" about looking up statistics? I merely wanted to point out that although not a good thing it is common that 9th-grade children have sex. I honestly thought that a quick search would give me the data but when it didn't appear in my results the engineer in me just would let go until I had it. I also wondered what the actual numbers were because "kids these days fuck like rabbits" is kind of vague.

Eh... if it does happen, it better be when they're about to graduate high school, and not their last year of middle school like here. Far as I'm aware, they can't get married until he's 18, at the earliest, and that's going to take a long time, like saying anything in Old Entish. We're probably not even going to be following them closely anymore after they graduate middle school, since they'll be split up to different schools and I suspect it'll be montages and timeskips as the story goes into epilogue mode, just like SukiMega, which also focused on a middle school romance, but kept it completely 'pure' and 'chaste', unlike this work that actually confronts the sexuality of that period of growing up instead of just ignoring it entirely. It was still one of the sweetest love stories I've read, though. Just like this one.


... But I'd be pleasantly surprised if the story actually does follow them closely going into their high school years, so we would have 3 whole years of in-manga story to see beyond what I'm currently expecting. That would be quite a nice thing to be revealed, to be honest.


Anyway, we're maybe just shy of halfway through their senior year of middle school at this point in the story, and It's been since the transition between Volumes 7 and 8 when this school year started. We should have maybe until Volume 14, at the earliest, before graduation hits, but I kinda feel like time progression is slowing, to an extent, and Volumes are possibly covering less and less time, so maybe it'd be closer to Volume 16 for a conclusion to the narrative.

The more confident Yamada gets, the more likely she will be to push down Ichikawa and take her bridal vows.

Far as I'm aware, she can't during the course of this story's expected duration. Unless they really do intend to follow them through their high school years where they're expected to be going to different schools, this story is ending at the conclusion of middle school in the next 7 or so months in-manga, I believe? And I think Japanese law would require Kyo to be at least 18 before they can legally marry (a detail spelled out by ToniKawa for us manga readers), which would mean he'd have to have graduated from high school before that happens, because he's born in the gap between the end and start of school years in Japan. It'd be, at best, covered by an epilogue.

Even with things as I understand it for how their senior year has been progressing and been covered by the volumes, I expect graduation to happen somewhere between the 14th and 16th volumes of this manga, which is still a lot of manga. I can't imagine them pushing forward and telling more story for another 3 in-manga years beyond that.

Kyou kissed Anna! That's one less kiss in his debt. Or maybe not, because for that one kiss she gave him three(!) in return. (I'm not actually keeping score, and I hope they're not either)

To be honest, it looked like she wasn't really moving her head much in this chapter during that sequence, so I just figured, after looking close enough, that she was still mostly laying her head down on the bed while he was approaching her, despite the fact he was talking. But I suppose it might also be her grabbing him and pulling him down, since her hand is hovering around his head or neck the whole time.
