I think its more she felt it was too dark to tell a real story. Given the wholesome nature with the brother she would eventually need to stop with a lot of these more forceful things since she never seems happy. So she gets to draw just the different themes without worrying how the brother makes her understand/grow.

Idk if you remember but Eureka 7 has same characters across media but different stories for each one while reference each other between manga, anime series, anime movie, game, novel
