The author of the novels posted an update after the web novel concluded explaining what's up. Basically, they want to continue the story in both light novel and manga format, but the manga artist's health declined after the 5th chapter was released, so the manga was put on hiatus. Since the author was writing the light novel and the manga at the same time, they chose to pause work on the light novel until the situation with the manga was figured out.
