It could very easily be a silver wedding ring. They aren't that uncommon. Regardless, the composition of a wedding ring doesn't correlate at all to how strong someone's marriage is.

I think folks are jumping the gun assuming she's in a bad way currently. To me, Kurune reads like someone who feels they are past their prime and are wondering if they are still able to try and achieve certain goals and dreams in their life.

The ring could be White Gold or Platinum too.
