It's not really changed.
I do check out the anime again after the chapter. and, it turn if you looking for it, the dialog is there, but it kinda try to make it quick or something, and with tone of dialog, doesn't have the highlight it need if it that important, it is easy to miss. at least to me, i won't speak to anyone. but honestly i doesn't have a single memory that happen in the anime

Glad they took the shitty ending of the anime and changed it, I'm so sick of the pointless self sacrifice trope after spending a series establishing a totally different personality only to have it collapse back to "im a slave to my families desires, if I don't do X Then what's the point of my birth"
You're whole life had been defiance of norms, don't give in to them now girl!

Thank you for your work! How I love this story!

I feel so sorry for Anis, she really doesn't deserve what's happening to her .

Because of the kingdom, because of those nobles who are obsessed with magic and can't see this poor girl who, despite her lack of it, is still trying to create a new concept of magic, which is also useful for all those who, like her, can't use magic, which, if I remember correctly, is reserved for aristocrats and nobles in general.

Coming back to the character of Anis, I simply cannot understand why the spirits did not accept her as a reincarnation in this world and why she was therefore excluded from the use of magic. It was mentioned that 'reincarnates' often bring a revolution, a change, to this world, but why they are deprived of magical power I did not fully understand.

I really hate that this got an adaptation that leapfrogged it in terms of story, I can't even read a couple of comments without someone referencing it and probably spoiling the story (although there's always uncertainty that they may have adapted it differently :p) I'm not watching the anime I'm not a weeb

I am interested how next chapter goes, because this chapter didnt resolve or work on nearly anything. The setup at the end of chapter feels like 70-80% stuff resolved, when basically only the starting point of resolving was passed and other points scratched at.

I mean basically everything of her gets denied, even if she loves and get loved in terms of her family , it does not change that her parents failed HARD. First basically not stopping the discrimination (even if that has reasons, they should still have shown boundaries, even though that got CLEARLY ignored by the ministry of magic in many ways) and then when she was taking the duty as a Princess because of necessity and abandoning everything before, they basically only put pressure on her.

Especially then when basically the Idea is sprung at her to replace her they treated Anis just like other nobles treat her, a Doll for replacement. Denying first her dream and then her duty. Naturally Anis gets upset and such a talk to was a bit needed, but still this whole situation and resolution is normally only at the beginning of getting resolved.

There's no need for spoiler, it was already explained even though it was mostly Anis's theories in the earliest part of the series. The reason she isn't 'accepted' is because spirits aren't sentient, or at least they don't willingly choose who they bond with. Some trait of the souls of people in this world attracts spirits. Dead spirits (normal magicite) or the remains of other magical creatures (e.g. the dragon's magicite) can act in the place of spirits as a catalyst to use magic. The idea that spirits "choose" people and are higher benign beings to be revered is a consequence of religious belief only.

Because Anis is a reincarnated person whose soul is from another world, she doesn't have whatever this trait is. Because it's related to her soul, there's not much she can do about it without using an external catalyst , which is where magicite and tools made from them come in. That includes the curse seal she tattooed on herself made from the dragon's magicite, though her soul has also been modified by the dragon.

Strictly speaking, she always had magical power, and so do ordinary people. They just lack the catalyst of the spirits to turn that power into something useful. Anis actually has one of the largest magical capacities in the series, even before she modified herself, that's why her experiments with magical tools always end up over the top with things or herself getting blown up or something. She's designing tools that anyone can use, but she isn't an ordinary person. One of the ironies of the series is despite being derided as having no magic talent, then if not for the lack of the spirit thing (which may change if magic tools become commonplace) she may have the most 'talent' of all where it actually matters.

I enjoy this manga, but it's weird to me that this whole dialogue about the throne has been so exclusively focused on Anisphia's sense of worth as a princess. Of course that's a valid conversation to have, and she should be reassured that she's valid and that she has done enough, just as it's understandable why she feels the way she does. But what's weird to me is that she has uttered not one peep about how unfair it would be for Euphyllia to have to throw herself on the sword of becoming queen, just as much as it is to make Anisphia inherit the throne. Neither of them actually want it; Euphyllia is only willing to take it--and sacrifice her humanity to boot--in order to save Anisphia from it. And the only reason the throne is such a burden to either of them is because of the regressive, heteronormative sociopolitical state of the country, but they also aren't talking about ways in which they might fix the issue from that angle.

From what they've actually discussed so far, it seems like Anisphia--as long as she can be reassured that she's valid and has done well as a princess--would be totally fine with Euphyllia completely sacrificing her existence by becoming a spirit contractor, inheriting the throne, marrying some random noble man she doesn't love, and having his babies before retreating from human society to live forever, alone.
