Now that I readed it I slightly can better understand Algard and why he would do that
In writing the Manga is much better then the Anime
Time constraint problem I guess, the anime lack the flexibility to spend more time on details compared to manga. It's only having 12 episodes and they have to end it on a good point of the story so they have to cut some part of the story.

Still don't see what was stopping lil bro from attempting to work with big sis but sure lets continue..

The kingdoms just not that stable. Aligning with her against the conservatives (who hold a crazy amount of power) would’ve just led to a civil war that the royals probably would’ve lost

Making himself her enemy let’s him manipulate the conservatives and keeps her from stopping him from dirtying his own hands

Al obviously hasn't gone about this in the "best" way, but his anger at Anis is justified. She just shunted the position onto him with no thought for how it'd make him feel. He wanted to join her and she just shut him out so there'd be a shield between her and the royal family's responsibilities

The O.G. meaning of "F T P".

He had poor advisors, refused to take action, then blamed others rather that introspection. Classic "wangst".
Did I read too much? Cause it seemed like he analyzed the situation (subjectively, but that can't be helped), found the root cause, determined a plan of action, and is now executing it.

He's trying to be the OP MC but fails because he's not the MC. Btw, I don't actually know if he fails, just assuming.

...They don't have to tho?
End of the 2nd LN volume would be perfectly fine to end on.
It always baffles me how people try to justify after the fact that "well, you have to cut stuff to fit the anime medium" like there isn't an infinity of examples of shows that prove the opposite.

All I’m gonna say is, I personally feel like they tried too hard to make us care for Algard here, siscon allegations aside.

I’ll just leave it at that so to avoid the mistakes from an earlier comment I made about this manga series a few chapters ago.

@golestar signs ofc you somehow take offense when I'm trying to play neutral here SMFH

Another chapter showing that neither Anis or Al are at fault. The nobles and by extension the king and the queen are responsible for how both of them turned out. The nobles treated Anis like an abomination and Al like a pawn. How can you call that a monarchy when the king is nothing but a puppet, used only to birth more puppets for the nobles to use?

Warning: moderators, you can ban me forever if you want if you don't like my comment, I don't even care anymore. Freedom of opinion is only a bullshit anyway. What a bunch of hypocritical idiots. You only applied it for one side. Pathetic.

Every politicians, whether it's in real life, or in a manga, they're nothing but sons of whores. Playing the victim cards when they're found that they're doing corruptions and evil things, like when Israelis are killing Palestinians for no good reasons or when LGBTQ supporters are grooming kids to be trans and gays. You guys are nothing but monsters. So go fuck yourself, you monsters. This manga reminds me of what you all did and makes me want to say this. Remember, you will have to take responsibility of all you did in the afterlife. Life is short.

I have come to appreciate how everyone is seriously arguing about the moral and political aspects of this. It all gets very heated, but it's actually about the contents of the manga instead of looking at sexual stuff that doesn't exist or going off the rails on topics that have nothing to do with the title.

Yeah, that's what happens when the story is about more than just romance and fluff (which can be great as well, where appropriate). You get more topical discussions instead of just "so cute" etc. It's fun. Next arcs should be even more fun.

Thing is that while that may be how it seems on the surface I feel there’s more to it. Her face when she’s telling him about giving up her right wasnt her normal smile that we’ve seen many times before. My guess is she did it cause she thought it would be better for him to be on it then her. This is backed by the way the nobles were talking about her and making up the rumor that she was trying to kill him. They would never have stood for her being on the throne due to her thoughts about magicology.

Honestly it feels like the one that set this whole debacle off was his teacher, who forced him to let a commoner die and said bad things about her, and the nobles

Of course I’m basing all this off of what I’m seeing on the manga. Maybe the novel goes more in depth about this and it turns out I’m completely off the mark in this comment
That's precisely what she described just because of her nature, and the status quo. The whole problem is the status quo, and the old men who are all too willing to zealously enforce it. Anis thought removing herself from the equation of succession would be the simplest solution, but she forgot to take her brother's feelings and concerns into account. To make matters worse, they were separated at some point due to his training and orientation to become King, so they couldn't talk about anything. Her brother came to the only conclusion he could under the circumstances, that the entire system is rotten.

Al was born into power and privilege, but was forbidden from using that power to reach out and helping even a single person, and even now is getting jerked around by all the nobles trying to either curry favor, or trying to control him for their own convenience. Before this fight, he never even meant any harm or directed any hostility toward his sister, but the selfsame aristocracy trying to influence him, did. Shit-talking about his sister, and treating her with animosity because of what he saw as groundless prejudice based only on zealotry. In a similar way, it's like how modern day believers leave their faiths, because they can't stomach the people. The Prince is good natured, but he's pissed that the very system which he was raised to believe is for the good of all, is actually dumping all over his moral compass. And the contradiction finally made him snap.
