@NamelessSoldier Humans can be monsters. You don't have to look further than Third world countries, the Middle East, hell, even First World countries in the past to find humans doing absolutely horrible things to other humans for little more than stuff such as a Book told them to. The Nazi Party, the Soviet Union, Venezuela, Cuba, the lists go on and on. In a world with magic and constant warfare apparently, where if your family doesn't have enough pull, such as the Sperados' dwindling power, they will do some crazy things to keep it or crawl their way back up to former glory.
A second born child with silver hair after a child with Blonde hair and Green eyes is a Sacrifice. It was never their daughter truly, even if they give it lip service. It's more likely they thought of it as cattle to be slaughtered for food than an actual daughter. They don't view her as a child, or even their child when it doesn't benefit them to do so, they don't even refer to her by name in private. Dehumanizing speech that strips away someone's humanity is a common way to nullify human empathy towards them. The Nazis did it to the Jews, Soviet Russia probably did it to Capitalists, North Korea does it even today towards America.
Now imagine an entirely family line that has the idea that Blonde Hair and Green Eyes = Chosen one, and Silver hair means the child is just kindling for the other. It's sad, pitiable, but no less deserving of distaste and hate, even if it's a case of long term Nurture.
